Wheaton College Conference Facility
The 2012 Family Economics Conference will be held at the beautiful Wheaton College Facility campus in Wheaton, Illinois – just 25 minutes west of the Chicago O’Hare airport or 35 minutes west of the Chicago Midway airport. Set in a quiet, residential neighborhood with many excellent, inexpensive hotels nearby, the Wheaton College conference facilities are a perfect venue for the entire family! There is plenty of parking, so we welcome all cars, mini-vans, and large passenger vans.

To check-in at our onsite registration table, come to the registration desk in the lobby of Edman Chapel (Registration opens at 3:00PM). The easiest way to enter the Wheaton College campus and find Edman chapel is from the west side of the college, by way of Washington Street. At the corner of Washington St. and E. Jefferson Ave. there is a large parking lot for Edman Chapel. There are a few other parking lots scattered across the campus where you are welcome to park as well, but will require a bit more walking to get to Edman Chapel.

Travelling to Wheaton
By Car
Driving to Wheaton is easy. If you are travelling through the city, remember to factor in Chicago traffic in the mornings and evenings. Traffic in the Wheaton areas and to/from your hotel will be mild.
Coming from the west, take I88 east to S Naperville Rd. Exit S Naperville Rd. and head north. After about 3 miles, take a right on E Roosevelt Rd. Go ½ mile and take a left (north) on S President St. After going about ½ mile north on S President St, you will enter into the Wheaton College via College Avenue on your left.
Coming from the south or east, find your way to I-355 northbound. Exit onto E Roosevelt Rd going west, just north of the intersection with I88. After about 2 miles, take a right (north) on S President St. After going about ½ mile north on S President St, you will enter into the Wheaton College via College Avenue on your left.
Coming from the north, find your way to I-355 southbound. Exit onto E Roosevelt Rd going west, just a few miles before the intersection with I-88. After about 2 miles, take a right (north) on S. President St. After going about ½ mile north on S President St, you will enter into the Wheaton College via College Avenue on your left.
By Air
Coming from O’Hare – The Chicago O’Hare airport is one of the largest airports in the world, and is the closest airport to Wheaton College. You can rent a car from O’Hare and drive to Wheaton in approximately 25 minutes if you aren’t driving during rush hour. Most of the hotels are within a 10-12 minute drive of the Wheaton Facility.
If you would like to shuttle or taxi to your hotel, we recommend using the following shuttle at $30/each way. Some hotels in the area provide morning and evening shuttles to/from Wheaton College on a first-come, first-serve basis. See the lodging information below for more details. We will also have an online forum for attendees who wish to coordinate their transportation with other folks. Stay posted for more information.
Coming from Chicago Midway – You can rent a car from Midway and drive to the Wheaton facility, and to/from your hotel. The drive is approximately 40-50 minutes if you aren’t driving during rush hour. Please note that the Chicago Midway airport is located nearer the downtown area of Chicago, and there are no large highways with fast access to the Wheaton area from Midway. Make sure you plan adequate time for travel, especially if you are driving from 6-9 AM, or 3:30-7PM.
