Detailed Registration Info
Meals at the Conference
Dining at Wheaton College – Our facility caterer will be providing buffet meals for attendees of the conference. Attendees can eat, fellowship, and network with each other in the beautiful dining room at Wheaton College. Meals are provided by Wheaton’s professional catering service Bon Appetite – ranked #4 in the nation for Christian colleges – so plan for food as good and edifying as the messages you’ll be hearing all weekend. (Note: because Wheaton College is located in an old residential neighborhood, there are very few good dining options nearby.)
The Meals – Meals are served buffet style. Each meal menu will include a salad, one main entrée and a vegetarian option, homemade dessert, and a beverage (soda, ice tea, or coffee).
Price – This discounted meal plan is purchased separate from the conference registration, but don’t worry, we’ve arranged for an incredible discount off the normal meal pricing. The meal plan includes 4 meals (Friday lunch, Friday dinner, Saturday lunch, and Saturday dinner) and costs only $22 per person ($5.50 per meal) – almost 40% off the normal meal price. Children ages 3-7 are only $4 per meal, and children 2 and under are free. Due to our contract with Wheaton College, there is an $8/person charge (for those age 3+) for not participating in the discounted meal plan.
Cancellation/Changes to Meals – Admission to meals are on a per person basis, so please make sure you submit the names of each family member attending. Not sure about last minute changes to your family’s plans? The meal plans can be changed or cancelled at no cost until January 31st, giving you time to make your final plans.
Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements – Because of our food contract with Wheaton College in which they have given us incredibly reduced meal pricing, they are unfortunately not able to accommodate special dietary needs or individual food preferences. Thank you for understanding.
When can I register?
Registration will be open online until we reach capacity. If there is still space remaining in March, onsite registrations will be available. There is limited capacity at our facility, so registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. (Please note that both our 2010 and 2011 Family Economics Conference registered to capacity, and in 2011 we had a waiting list of over 200!)
I’m coming from a long distance. Where do I stay, and should I fly or drive to Chicago?
We have arranged some detailed travel information as well as discounted rates at several nearby hotels. Visit our Facility and Travel page for more information.
Do I have to register online?
Yes. If you experience issues with our online registration, if you are from another country, or if you do not have a credit card to complete the online registration process, you may call our Registration Coordinator, Megan Roach, at 303-956-9977. Please allow several days for return calls in some cases.
Cancellations/Refunds
Registrations canceled before December 31st, 2011, will be refunded 90% of the total registration amount. From December 31st to January 31st, all registrations canceled will be refunded at 50%. All registrations after January 31st are non-refundable. All meals plans can be cancelled or changed at no cost until January 31st.
